The podcast has a really iconic branding with soft pastel colours and playful visual elements made of random shapes. The visuals are really consistent throughout every page of the website.
This theme can easily attract audience by its significant brand identity. However, there might be too many colours going on. After looking at their website, it is found out that they do not have a fixed palette. This might affect the focus of audience and hinder the legibility of information. Audience would be easily affected by the colours and get distracted when reading information.

- 99% Invisible is about all the thought that goes into the things we don’t think about — the unnoticed architecture and design that shape our world.
- We are a completely independent production. Funding comes directly from our phenomenally dedicated listeners, including our record-breaking Kickstarter campaign, and from podcast underwriters.
Compared to the previous podcast, 99% invisible has a more simple web design. It uses grids as the main theme alongside with some lined drawings as symbols. This is a better way of communication in order to deliver messages clearly to the audience. They used mostly black and white, with a little bit of yellow to highlight important information. This could be applied to our podcast branding to make everything simple and easy to read.
GRITS AND GRIDS
GRITS AND GRIDS
- restaurant branding
- marketing strategies
The branding of Grits and Grids is similar to the 99% invisible one. They also used black, white and yellow as their main colours. Without any symbols, they fully made use of the functions of typefaces and font sizes as a way to guide audience through the website.
