Hey Ruby,
Happy New Year :)
Here you go,
Here you go,
IN GENERAL
- Why did you study in Japan? Always love Japan at a young age and I had an opportunity to work at a local brand :)
- Does your study experience in Japan affect your mindset?Yes for sure, work and social wise.
- What influenced you the most on your work and style? I think its the community I have in Hong Kong, the creatives around me really affect and shape my work in general.
- Who is your favourite creators/ practitioners I don't really have a person as my favourite, I guess is still the creative collectives we have in Hong Kong? Since we all work together often and we also learn from each other a lot.
- Do you think your music career and your brand co-relates with each other? Oh yeah 100%, music takes great part in my brand and my work in general. Everything correlates to me.
- Do you think being a creator/ brand starter in Hong Kong in such a young age is a disadvantage? Why? I actually think it's an advantage. For me, I started designing at a young age. You get more time to experiment and discover yourself more, which I think it's important for your future career. Getting to know what you like and don't.
- Do you think hong kong is good place to start up a business? What do you think is the most important thing when starting up your own business? Yeah, since it's a small city yet so diverse. You'll get to meet a lot of important people in your life whenever you start up something. I'm still learning on starting up my own "business" haha, but I think its to be organize in every way.
- What is the key of success when it comes to expanding your social circle? Be kind :)
- What is your comfort zone? I don't know haha
CASHMEREPULLOVER
- What inspired you to establish your brand? I guess is the desire of setting up something that let me express my work? Cashmere wasn't a brand at first, it's more of an alter ego of mine.
- what is the concept of the brand identity? It's more DIY and a customization driven brand, everything under the brand it's just my work in various medium.
- What are the challenges of starting up a brand all by yourself? I think it's the things that behind the design process, such as logistic, production etc. Sometimes it could be hectic to handle everything by myself, but it's part of the fun :)
- As seen in your products’ designs, the rough edges and grain textures of the prints are really interesting, what did you do to create the textures? A secret :x
- Please share your experiences collaborating with different practitioners and brands All of the brands or people that I have collaborated with are either friends or brands that I found interesting and suitable for cashmere. All the collaborations happen organically so they are just fun!
