OUR TASK
We first brainstormed and mind mapped the idea and the concept PAUL SMITH and the umbrella.
We then started to sketch out different ideas that we have in mind
We chose 3 ideas that we liked the most n further develop them and at last, we combined the three ideas into one and that one idea will be our final idea.
We made one of the ideas onto the "window". There will be striped of coloured papers hanging from the middle of the spinning umbrella.
FINAL IDEA RATIONALE
The Paul Smith patterns are leaking out from the middle of the umbrella to represent the formal on the outside and the wild personality leaking out from the inside of the umbrella.
We stuck striped of coloured paper onto the "window" to create a Paul Smith patterned background.
We then cut out the shape of water leaking and the umbrella on the black paper and stuck the black paper on the coloured background.
WORK ON WALL
FEEDBACK
Most people are saying that we should us more different patterns to make the design more interesting. However, the striped patterns are actually the signature pattern of Paul Smith. We realized that we did not write it on the rationale which made people confused.
